A familiar interview discipline, with a different decision behind it.

Amazon Freight Partner is not a conventional full-time role. It is a selection process for an owner-operator who will build and run a trucking business. The public programme information focuses on business experience, people management, financial acumen and overall programme fit.

The preparation still benefits from the same discipline used in a strong Amazon interview: specific examples, clear ownership, evidence of judgement and direct answers to follow-up questions. But your examples need to show that you can make decisions as the person accountable for the operation, its people and its performance.

Amazon does not publicly describe AFP as a separate Leadership Principles test. I therefore do not present it as one. Leadership Principles can still be a useful lens for structuring evidence around ownership, hiring, standards, safety and results.

What we work on

  • Your leadership evidence: examples of building teams, setting standards, coaching people and dealing with difficult performance issues.
  • Business judgement: decisions involving cost, capacity, risk, quality, customer impact or a trade-off under pressure.
  • Financial confidence: explaining how you have owned or influenced budgets, resources, productivity or commercial outcomes, without pretending to be a finance specialist.
  • Hands-on operating style: showing that you can move from a plan to day-to-day execution, especially when conditions change.
  • Motivation and fit: why you want to become an owner-operator, why now and what makes this a deliberate choice rather than a passive investment.
  • Mock interview practice: direct feedback on vague claims, missing ownership and answers that do not yet show the required scale.

How we prepare your examples

You bring your CV, the application material you are comfortable sharing and your understanding of the stage you are at. We build a focused portfolio of examples rather than trying to turn every experience into an Amazon story.

  • One or two examples of leading and developing people;
  • A clear operational result delivered under constraints;
  • A difficult decision involving cost, risk or a trade-off;
  • A failure, setback or missed target, including what changed afterwards;
  • A concise and credible answer to “Why this business?” and “Why Amazon Freight Partner?”.

What this coaching covers, and what it does not

I help you prepare the behavioural, motivational and leadership side of the selection process. I do not provide legal, tax, insurance, trucking compliance or investment advice. Amazon provides its own programme materials and training for the operational setup; your interview preparation should remain grounded in your real experience and the information Amazon gives applicants.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCEOperations leadership, applied to the way you explain your evidence.

I spent approximately eight years at Amazon across Operations, Business Development and Program Management. My role in coaching is not to claim access to a confidential selection process; it is to help you communicate leadership, judgement and operational ownership with far more precision.
